textiles that awaken the senses
The collection features objects created through an exploration of new modes of expression using textile as a medium—one that engages the senses in a subtle, non-invasive way. These are everyday items transformed into sensory experiences, with the power to keep us grounded in the present moment. After all, it is impossible to remain indifferent to the rustle of straw or the scent of lanolin…
All textiles and fillings are made from natural, ecological materials—wool, cotton, linen, hemp, hay, straw, wood, grains, and seeds—many of which are sourced from local farms. Each object is entirely handcrafted. Their materiality offers a simple yet refined response to the contemporary need to slow down and reconnect with the surrounding world.
These textiles bring together traditional craftsmanship and the memory of vernacular practices with a contemporary design language. They invite close, intimate engagement—encouraging viewers to look within and discover hidden layers of matter. Some objects reveal their nature immediately, while others unfold only through direct, sensory experience.
During the exhibitions, visitors are encouraged to touch, smell, place the objects against their skin, and look underneath.
This project was carried out in collaboration with the Hydro-polis Foundation as part of the initiative “Spinning in Masuria. A Weaving Cooperative.” Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage under the National Centre for Culture’s EtnoPolska 2025 programme.
